The traditional dress, a timeless touch through time
The Tunisian traditional dress of inspiration, landmark for generations and a true brand of values has, over the last few years, been able to innovate and adapt to the current global context. Framed by the know-how of the National Office of Tunisian Handicrafts, he has won over a new clientele and shine brightly in the KHOMSA D’OR competition.
A story written over the last 18 editions since 1996, making the KHOMSA D’OR’s competition a springboard for the emergence of new stylists and artists who combine Tunisian fashion with ancestral art jealously transmitted through generations.
This 19th edition presents in the spotlight the best creations in two categories namely the daily costume inspired by the Berber heritage and the ceremonial costume inspired by the drape.
In total, out of more than seventy nominations, the jury honored forty-six collections selected for the final parade which allowed to present the winners of this edition.
Guests of honor, international stylists Mr. Hainy El Behayri from Egypt and Ms. Golda Vynogradska from Ukraine, participated in the parade of the 19 th edition KHOMSA D’OR.
The Berber village of Takrouna located in the governorate of Sousse and the mythical museum of Bardo in Tunis wrapped the creations of this year during a photo shoot to shine these clothes both nationally and internationally …
More than a coat, a human touch to envelop you …
The awards ceremony was organized by ONA, under the authority of the Ministry of Tourism and Handicrafts, on May 11, 2017 at a hotel in the northern suburbs of Tunis
