On Friday, June 9, 2023, the Minister of Tourism, Mr. Mohamed El Moez Belhoucine, paid a working visit to the wilaya of Kairouan. On the occasion, he supervised, accompanied by the governor of Kairouan, Mr. Mohamed Bourguiba, the works of the periodic symposium of the regional delegates of handicrafts. The minister then turned to the copper market, where he saw a number of workshops specialized in forged copper and listened to the concerns of craftsmen in this specialty. He also visited a carpet exhibition hall and sold the products of traditional industries of a distinctive nature, where he saw the quality and types of carpets characteristic of the wilaya of Kairouan. The minister was briefed on some of the components of the intervention to take care of the tourist environment in the project to develop the "Al-Seuri" park within the "visite tunisia" program in partnership with the Ministry of Tourism. He also visited a typical workshop specialized in making local sweets. At the headquarters of the Regional Delegate for Handicrafts, the minister examined the process of monitoring the export of a number of traditional products, especially carpets, within the framework of the "Easy Export" system via the postal network. The Minister of Tourism concluded the work visit by reviewing the components of the exhibition of traditional industries and local products in Martyrs' Square, Bab Al-Jaladin, organized by the Yaghir Youth Association within the "clickairoun 2.0" program, and by examining the tire industry project in a newly created craft institution in Al-Manar district.
