On the occasion of National Tunisian Women’s Day, Ms. Asma Jabri, Minister of Family, Women, Children and the Elderly, inaugurated the promotional event for traditional industries in Tunis on Wednesday, August 12, 2026, at the “Salle des Nouvelles” (News Hall) in Tunis.
Held under the theme “Tunisian Artisan Woman: Creativity and Authenticity,” the event was jointly organized by the Ministry of Family, Women, Children and the Elderly and the Ministry of Tourism, represented by the National Office of Traditional Industries, with the participation of Mr. Yassine Friaa, CEO of the Tunisian Post.
During her visit, the Minister toured the various exhibition stands and discovered a wide range of products created by Tunisian women artisans. These included ceramics, accessories, traditional clothing, leather bags, Barama pottery, and value-added agricultural products.
The Minister expressed her support for the participating artisans and highlighted the various programs and national mechanisms implemented by the Ministry to promote the marketing and commercialization of products made by women.
Running until August 16, the exhibition aims to support women’s economic initiatives, showcase the projects and products of women artisans and entrepreneurs, and create new promotional and marketing opportunities. These efforts contribute to strengthening women’s participation in economic life, ensuring the sustainability of their activities, supporting the development of the traditional industries sector, and preserving and promoting Tunisia’s rich artisanal heritage.
The event also highlights the talent, creativity, and entrepreneurial potential of Tunisian women while showcasing high-quality local artisanal products from different regions of the country. These products combine traditional authenticity with innovation and contemporary creativity.
Furthermore, the event provides an opportunity for direct interaction and exchange among visitors, artisans, and professionals, helping to create new opportunities for marketing, networking, and commercial partnerships.
