Establishment of the Center
The Technical Center for Innovation, Renewal, and Support in Embroidery and Weaving was established by a decision of the Minister of Trade and Traditional Industries on February 14, 2007. It is a legal entity of public economic interest, enjoying civil personality and financial independence, and is under the supervision of the Minister of Trade and Traditional Industries.

General Tasks:
- Encouraging innovation and renewal while preserving national authenticity and heritage.
- Supporting artisans and assisting them in developing work methods, improving the quality and diversification of raw materials, controlling their costs, and conducting advertising and media campaigns to promote innovative products and help artisans exploit and market them, including organizing annual workshops.
- Encouraging the use of natural raw materials and environmentally friendly techniques that preserve the sustainability of natural materials.
- Incubating new projects and providing support throughout all stages of project creation.
- Establishing partnership programs with institutions of higher education and vocational training centers through contracts to ensure scientific and technological vigilance in the sector, including conducting studies, research, and documentation in their respective fields of specialization in coordination with relevant bodies.
- Assessing national resources of natural raw materials that can be used in traditional industries.
- Collecting information on sub-sectors, acting as a reference and analyzing them.
- Developing and enhancing craftsmanship skills and competencies.
Specific Tasks:
- Providing technical, industrial, and commercial information, as well as all relevant statistics and preparing technical studies related to embroidery and weaving activities.
- Contributing to the utilization of all national resources of raw materials used in the field in collaboration with relevant institutions.
- Supporting artisans, craft establishments, and specialized associations by providing necessary assistance to streamline work methods, improve equipment, enhance techniques, and elevate quality.
- Participating in the development of technical standards and specifications and supporting artisans, craft establishments, and specialized associations in implementing them.
- Coordinating with support and assistance structures, organizations, associations, Tunisian and foreign higher education institutions for the exchange of experiences and information, with the aim of developing the sector, promoting scientific research, and innovation in the field.
- Coordinating with specialized vocational training centers to develop work methods, introduce new techniques in training and production, and develop competencies and skills.
- Conducting all necessary testing and analysis operations for materials and products.
